The Mishawaka Foundation was established in 1946 to award campership grants to children of families who could not otherwise afford to provide the benefits of a camp experience at Camp Mishawaka and other camps.

Over the past 64 years, the foundation has awarded an estimated $1,145,347 in camperships. Since 1946, we have been able to aid hundreds of deserving children with the opportunity to have this educational and recreational experience. In 2016 we awarded $107,805 in grants to 32 deserving candidates.

The Foundation’s mission is “Serving Youth through Camping.” Our propose is to positively influence the lives of financially disadvantage children through life changing summer camp experience.

We believe:

  • The benefits of a Camp Mishawaka or other camp experience can change the life of a disadvantaged child.
  • The Foundation should provide campership grants to children of families who could not otherwise afford it.
  • That the diversity that the Foundation Children bring to Camp Mishawaka is a benefit to the camp experience.
  • That those who have benefited from the camp experience, in turn should try to provide it to the financially disadvantaged.
